Dana Peterka
Dana Peterka worked for 32 years for Union Carbide Corporation. During this period, he had 14 different job assignments in seven locations. His assignments included operations, marketing, information technology, sales, training, and product management.
Dana received his Bachelor of Science from the South Dakota School of Mines. In addition, he has completed over 40 continuing education programs conducted by institutions such as Columbia University, New York University, and the University of Michigan. Since retiring, Dana has been active with volunteer work. His business-oriented activities include counseling over 400 small businesses as a SCORE volunteer and conducting workshops and seminars for area businesses. Dana developed and implemented a variety of workshops offering practical management and employee education; these workshops have been conducted in 9 Greater Knoxville counties.
Dana works with Roane State Community College as a volunteer consultant on redesigning their organization to reduce costs and improve their processes and services and wrote a “What’s the SCORE” business column in the Roane County News.
His current memberships and roles include Past Chair of the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the Roane Alliance, Board member of the Roane County United Way Counselor with and past Chair of the Greater Knoxville SCORE Chapter, Chair of the Roane State Community College Foundation Board and member of the Investment Committee.
Dana is a Leadership Roane County graduate and East Tennessee Regional Leadership graduate. He was honored with the Roane County Chamber’s Distinguished Service Award.
