David Pryor
David Pryor, a dedicated and accomplished member of the ROANEnet Board, is a 1967 graduate of Johnson University. A week after his graduation, David married Sharran, beginning a lifelong partnership both personally and professionally.
David’s first ministry involved establishing a new congregation in Asheboro, North Carolina. His second ministry was with the Falls Mills Christian Church in Falls Mills, Virginia. In 1975, he resigned from that position to join the newly formed Pioneer Bible Translators (PBT) and pursue linguistic training with Wycliffe Bible Translators and the University of Texas at Arlington.
After completing three semesters of postgraduate studies, three months of survival training, and raising the necessary support, David and his family embarked on their translation ministry in Papua New Guinea. There, David was appointed by the PBT Board to establish PBT’s first branch. He successfully completed all the requirements to formally establish PBT with the government, set up the branch headquarters, and created the organizational structure. He and his family were allocated to the Kire language group, where they began their translation work and served for twenty-three years.
In 2002, David began serving as Associate Minister at Morrison Hill Christian Church (MHCC) while continuing to contribute to PBT in various roles. He has been with MHCC for twenty-two years, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to ministry and translation work.
