Richard Glover

Born child #7 in a family of 10 kids to a military family in Japan, Richard moved around with his family until he was 9.  His family made a home in the Warner Robins, Georgia area, where his father retired from the Air Force.

Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Army as a Military Policeman, serving for 4.5 years and starting college in Northern Virginia.  After earning an AA degree in Criminal Justice, he stumbled upon the path of information technology in 1994 and attended the Computer Learning Center.

After finishing the IT course, the school’s counselor placed him in an intern position with a local contractor at the Executive Office of the President.  After a year, he was awarded a permanent position and quickly advanced in the 3 years he was there to lead the server team that provided service to the White House Complex, including the Vice President’s residence.

He then moved on to a small company called Integrated Data Systems, which was later purchased by the larger ManTech International company, which has been providing contract service to the DoD since 1968.  He spent 22 years with ManTech, holding over 10 positions on multiple DoD contracts, retiring in October 2020 as an information technology scientist.

Richard joined ROANEnet in late January 2021 to help apply his knowledge and experience serving Roane County.
