Senior Citizen Digital Literacy Classes

Senior Citizen Digital Literacy Classes

ROANEnet (roanenet.org), a non-profit 501(c)(3) advocate for affordable, robust and reliable high-speed internet access, equitable availability of digital devices and digital literacy skills training is conducting Digital Literacy classes at local senior citizens venues.

We provide a Fire Table for each student for use during the training. Those who participate in our training can then purchase the Amazon Fire HD8 Tablets at a 50% discount.

During the digital literacy training we address the following: what the Fire tablet can and cannot do, features of the tablets, starting and setup assistance, navigation techniques, usage of applications for accessing the internet for social media, news, books, shopping and many more.

In order to use the tablets to their full extent it is necessary that the students have  Wi-Fi internet access and an account with Amazon, which is free.

ROANEnet’s target audience for this type of digital literacy training is Roane County senior citizens but other eligible citizens may also partake.

If you have an interest in hosting or taking such a class please contact us at ROANEnet.org or email [email protected].
